FEBRUARY: A Special Message from our President
I hope everyone is recovering well from the festivities known as Superbowl LIV. As we continue through the gloomy weather, I’d like to remind everyone that every day we are getting closer to sunnier, brighter times. Many of us know that National Engineers Week is nearly upon us, but have we ever wondered why it comes at the end of February? National Engineers Week coincides with the birth of George Washington, who is considered to be our nation’s first engineer!
This month’s presentation is going to educate us on different clean agent fire protection systems. Since the removal of Halon from the market there are many questions about clean agents. What are the differences between the different clean agent systems? How does each work? Are they safe? Which is the most cost effective? Will they have restrictions in the future? What is the difference between
manmade agents and natural agents? This presentation reviews the multiple agents in the market today and answers all these questions and more.
“The ideal engineer is a composite … He is not a scientist, he is not a mathematician, he is not a sociologist or a writer; but he may use the knowledge and techniques of any or all of these disciplines in solving engineering problems.” – Nathan W. Dougherty.
